ABSTRACT
It has been realized a new system of conveyor controller protoype using AT89C51
microcontroller. The realized instrument has been completed with infra-red sensor.
The physics valiable will be captured by infra-red sensor and transferred to signal prossessor
as an input signal, that is indicates “on or off” the microcontroller action system.
Microcontroler will respon while infra-red ray blocked by coal train during 15 seconds. Infra-
Red transmitter realized uses an IC NE555 multivibrator astabil circuit. Infra-red receiver uses
a A-394HB fotodioda integrated with electronic swicths using BD139 and BC108 transistors.
One of actions in this realized system is an alarm and will be set by a life first time in a time
gap 30 seconds after the present of coal train that’s mean the blocking of infra-red sensor. The
second action is conveyors, and between conveyors will be active in such respectively 15
seconds delay. All of controler system will be off when the infra-red sensor is not blocked by
coal train for about 60 seconds. All of systems have been characterized and give a good
results compared with the theoretical prediction, and certainly will be possible to be implented
in reel condition, such at PT Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam.
